SHABBAT Law #s05: "Must I recite Blessings-After-Meals in the same place that I ate?"

In a meal that starts with bread [such as everyone eats on Shabbat], everyone must recite the blessings after eating in the same place where they ate. If the person leaves the place where he ate, and it is before the end of the time it takes for food to be digested, they may - and must - still recitethe blessings. One is even required to go back to the place where one ate in order to recite the blessings here.

According to some opinions, anyone who left his original place deliberately and does not go back, even if they blessed in the second location, they may not have fulfilled their obligation to bless. However, the final ruling gives great weight to the principle that one should not bless using G-d's name if there is a possibility that it is unneccessary, so if they blessed in the second location, it is considered acceptable.

Another solution would be to eat a tiny bit of bread in the second place and then one would be obligated to bless there anyway. nevertheless, it is always appropriate to not leave the place where one ate without first reciting the blessings.
